Inanc Isil Yildirim, who is born in Izmir, Turkey, started her undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Architecture in 2001. After she graduated, she got her master's degree from same university with "The Effect of Environmental Data on Building Programming: Holiday Villages in the Bodrum Region" in 2014. During the design work carried out with academic activities between 2004 and 2008, has realized multiple architectural projects of the tourism and office structures. Between 2008 and 2012, she completed her PhD at the Dokuz Eylül University. Her dissertation was "The Effects of Physical Elements on Space Perception in Floating Structures: Investigation of Environment and Human Behavior". İnanç Işıl Yıldırım, who gives lectures in various universities both in Turkey and abroad, has determined her areas of expertise as "space perception", "interior design of yachts" and "post-use evaluation", in the academic field. She still works as a lecturer and head of department at the Interior Architecture Department of Beykent University.
Yacht spaces have complex interior systems which the human comfort became an important issue than ever. Increasing sizes and scales transform them as interior design spaces rather than industrial design objects. Because of the technological beings of yachts, they evaluated as floating machines. However the subject of spatial perception of human has a great number of data, the psychological comfort of human which could be responded by the space were not taken into enough consideration while designing yacht interiors. In this context, human comfort in yacht spaces in the scope of interior design elements will be explained by the different approaches from the architects who have applied the data of environmental psychology for buildings. The study shows, in reality architectural design codes were not applied to the yacht interiors. Being aware of the danger of stressful environments effects to the user's comfort on board, an architectural approach is basic for overcoming of these problems. Providing an architectural perspective to the yacht spaces aims to support the design process of future pleasure yachts for human comfort.
In parallel with the technological developments dominating usage of digital tools in science and education, caused the transform of knowledge in new ways. The reflection of these integration is seen in design discipline as its active role in this circle whether in practice or in the era of education, Benefit from the capabilities of new technologies in the education process for increasing design students' spatial knowledge, benefit from them digital tools also effect their carrier life in positive direction. By noticing the traditional education methods which are still using in many design school, the endeavor indicates that determine the appropriate learning method by considering individuals different cognitive style. The cognitive styles mean classify individuals according the way of perceive information and process it. Through this way, as subjects of the study, students categorized in respect to their cognitive styles whether field dependence or field independence, and then the relation between their cognitive style and spatial knowledge acquisition from virtual environment was observed. While defining digital tools in design education, the need of differences related to cognitive styles should be considered, this is supported by the data from this study which are indicating the increase of students' spatial knowledge in different scale of virtual environments.
The link between luxury brand identity, concept and interior design in retail shops is examined in the context of changing consumer patterns in a globalizing world. Interior shop design not only has functional benefits, but contributes to emotional and symbolic benefits like status and image. Here architecture plays a primary role in creating spaces appropriate to the concept and its objectives. Despite its increasing volume, online shopping has not reduced the demand for traditional physical shopping spaces. For a project to be successful it must go beyond merely technical solutions, seeking to create awareness based on an architectural concept that conveys the identity of luxury brands. This study also reflects the views of interior design students, drawing conclusions from the way in which the concept reflects on their designs in terms of form, materials, colour and spatial organisation.
